Hey there friend, and welcome to my blog! I’ve had a hard time admitting it, but It’s here. Fall is here. Though it’s always hard to say goodbye to Summer, I love the fall time! The dark chilly mornings, digging out old blankets and sweaters, and having soup everyday… It’s the best. Seriously. It’s also the time of year my husband and I started dating, so I get all nostalgic to go out and do fun things together! So for all of my thrifty friends, here are 10 cheap fall date ideas for you to enjoy the weather, and not break the bank.
- Take a scenic drive through the leaves
One of the best parts of Autumn-time are all the beautiful leaves and colors. Of course, it depends on where you live, but I like to drive up to the mountains/canyons nearby for a truly stunning view.
2. Go for a walk at the park
A simple way to get outside, but there really is something about that crisp fall air that I just adore! Take a walk at a park, in your neighborhood, or around a lake. It’s just so fun to bundle up when it’s not too cold yet.
3. Head out to your local farmer’s market
Even if you’re not buying anything, getting out to look at the Fall crop and mingling with others is always a great way to spend the day. (Just get out in the community!)
4. Stay-in and Have a Movie Night
Grab some blankets, pillows, put on some pajamas, and cuddle up on the sofa for an at home movie night. I get in such a mood when the weather starts to cool down, I just want to stay home and cuddle up. Don’t forget the popcorn!
5. Have a Pie Making Night
When we hit November/Thanksgiving time, I really want pie. I’m not a big pumpkin pie fan, but I LOVE Banana & Chocolate cream pie. Plus it’s always fun to cook together!
6. Make Hot Chocolate and Cookies to Share
Another cooking together idea, but man, making hot chocolate takes what, a few minutes? And nothing is more comforting than a steamy cup of hot chocolate after spending some time out in the cold.
7. Roast S’mores Over a Campfire
Grab some sweatshirts and friends, and stay warm while still enjoying the crisp night air. You don’t even need to go camping, just find a friend with a fire pit in their backyard, roast some marshmallows, and have a good chat!
8. Go to the Pumpkin Patch
Go outside. Pick a pumpkin. If you’re anything like me, take a breath. It’s not the only pumpkin you’ll ever have to pick. It’ll be okay if it’s not the perfect pumpkin. There’s always next year.
9. Have a Scavenger Hunt
Now you could do this inside a large store, or find a good place outside. Get a group of people, or just keep it as a one on one date, however you do it, you’ll have a good time.
10. Go to the Thrift Store
Okay, I know. But I just love thrift stores! Always fun to go with someone else, and you could play games, like picking clothes for each other, or finding the strangest item.
Have you done any of these things? Let me know what you all think in the comments, and make sure to check back again soon!
