Hey there friend, and welcome back to my blog! The season changed so quickly, and I am SO excited for Christmas! Growing up we always had a countdown to Christmas or advent calendar of sorts. So I decided to make this countdown to Christmas blocks set! It was really simple, and I thought it turned out so cute!
I found these blocks at the Thrift store, and they were PERFECT. Two smaller ones for the numbers, and a large one to write something cute on.
I wanted it to be fun and festive, so I painted the number blocks red and green. I used acrylics, and since I was trying to cover up the old pictures on the blocks, it ended up taking about 3-4 coats each. This was definitely the most time consuming part of this craft. I’m sure if you started with new, blank blocks it would only take a few coats.
Now for the numbers on the block, I figured out how to make it so you have enough numbers for all of December.
First Block: 1,2,3,4,5,6
Second Block: 7,8,9,0,1,2
Doing it this way, when you’re down to single digits, you’ll just have you use the one cube.
Here it is all finished! I wrote “Countdown to Christmas” on the bottom block, and used sharpies to draw the little snowflakes. I hope you all enjoyed this craft, I had so much fun making it. Make sure to leave me a comment, and check out some of my other posts!
